a hidden Gem

I was looking for a change of pace and a unique experience while we were in Naples, and am so glad we found the Rusty Daisy Ranch! The one-hour trail ride was an enormous amount of fun for all of us -- two adults and four children.

Some of us were novice riders and some of us ride horses twice a week, but Michelle and Rebecca easily and competently accommodated everyone. The novices were comfortable, and the experienced equestrians weren't bored.

We loved the ride through the Picayune Strand State Forest. The kids especially loved splashing through through the water and we all loved learning about the bears, panthers, gopher tortoises, and burrowing owls, as well as the history of the ecosystem. We couldn't believe we got to see a bald eagle (they are so much bigger than you think they are!) Everyone is still talking about it.

The horses (mostly quarter horses) were well-cared for and obviously known and loved as individuals.
